I amurious about the "aster" pets in game. I'vd tried to read as many artles as Iould on the spifs of the differees between this group of pets and "normal" pets. However, not being a raider, nor mh of an "instaer" (euse the neologism), I'm not even sure the stat differees will be something I will note. Sie I started playing WoW, my pets have generally beenats and ravagers. However, rently, Ireated a "bodyguard" toon on my sond count to help me level a Priest on my main count, and thought "hey! why not try a Wind Serpent? After all, they look reallyool." Well I leveled enough and went to GREAT pains to eventually tame one that did not haveaster stats. I'm justurious whether anyone using a "aster pet" might have some personal insight to share about their supposedly "inferiour" pet? Is this something the Hunterommunity feels that Blizzard should address in an eventual update? (ie: eliminate the "asterlass" defiey)
Pets are getting totally overhauled, so one would assume that they would take out those dreadfulaster labels, but we all know what they say about people who assume.
Caster Pets have beenompletely eliminated in theurrent Beta build, so all those beasts with Mana bars will have normal stats when tamed. We will, however, have to deal with the ft that Wind Serpents SK now. It really pisses me off. Iamped for about 6 hours over theourse of 2 days to tame my nonaster white windserpent, and he's been tearing up the damageharts. But oe 3.0omes, he'll likely sit in my stable until the expansionomes, and then he might get to see the light of day until I start raiding at 80... maybe. As for how inferior they are, it's pretty big. At level 70, they have about 1k less HP than a nonaster pet, less armor and lower DPS. Itan be a real pain to keep them alive. There are some hunters who swear by theiraster WSs for end-game raiding (see: BT and Sunwell), but I just wouldn't go that far. I already have a hard enough time keeping my pet alive as it is some times.
