They swear that the testing is right and should be taken as gospel. I'm not saying that they areommon, or that I agree with them. I've just seen hunters who won't use a regular wind serpent bauseasters have a higherrithae and damage for Lightning Breath. They really don't do any more damage than nonasters.
I know this probably isn't a good example, but the other day I had my alt run through SM by a lvl 60 something hunter with a WS (it was a green one). He loved it and said it did about the same dmg as his ravager, so he planned on keeping it until WotLKomes out.
No. Wind Serpents do less damage than ravagers until you have about 30-35%rit rating. It's not as bad as the gap between say a wolf's damage and a ravager's, but there is a pretty noteable differee. If you're trying to minmax in Kara and T5, then you want a ravager. WSs don't start getting as good as ravagers until full-t5getting into t6
Wind serpents are really an SV pet. With the massive amount ofrit they have, ombined with the lk of other normal dps boosting talents for the pet, it really shines. For a BM hunter, a ravager is still almost always better. The highest parses I've seen have all had a ravager as a pet. It's a bit weird to me, as some of the math I've tried has put the wind serpent pretty high, but I've never seen it perform to it's theoretal potential. Itould be I've just missed the WWS's of it though. It still eats bread and is prettyool imo. I use a wind serpent or aat bause I don't like ravagers.
